The Best Song From The Devil Wears Prada

Basic Information About The Devil Wears Prada

The Devil Wears Prada is a Christian band from Dayton, Ohio. They formed their band in 2005, and produced their first album in 2006. They just recently released their second EP called Space in August of 2015. Altogether they have created 7 albums. Their music genre is metal-core, but in my opinion, they have made their own unique genre, only because their sound is a lot more original than any other metal-core band.

Best Song = Asteroid

To be honest, it was rather difficult for me to think of a best song from them. Everything they produce is incredibly astonishing. Since they've just constructed a new EP only a few months ago, of course I'm going to fancy their newer music at the moment.
I am currently under the impression that their best song so far is "Asteroid". It is the last song off of the EP. It is such a unique song, along with the rest of the EP. At first I didn't necessarily enjoy the song all that much, because it sounds like a mix of their albums 8:18 and Dead Throne. Since you most likely don't know why that seems like a somewhat bad thing, a lot of people (including me) don't really appreciate their album Dead Throne. That's the only album that isn't all that great. After giving "Asteroid" a few listens though, I grew to absolutely adore the song. It has that uniqueness that most songs from other bands do not possess. It's a song where you can think, "Oh, this is definitely The Devil Wears Prada." The lyrics really make you think about how pointless it is to despise people for the way they are, about how pointless it is to never forget people for all the wrong reasons, about how all of the fighting and foes you have do not matter in the end. People hope to die in their sleep of natural causes, or for it to at least be quick, but the fact that everyone knows the asteroid is coming and can even see it approaching is eerie itself. The wait leads people to think of all the loose ends they never tied with their family, friends, and everything they'll never see again.
Anyway, you can really hear the emotion coming from Mike Hranica (vocalist) in this song. You can hear how genuine he is, and how much he does in fact believe in what he is saying, which is great, because a lot of songs you hear these days are about sex, drugs, alcohol, and just pure stupidity (just my opinion, don't be offended).

My favorite lyrics from "Asteroid":

"While we all live with hate towards our neighbors, while we all live with hate without favor, think of best friends, think of strangers, think of lovers, think of foes, think of children, think of family, keep in mind that nothing stays."

"It's funny how we once fought. It's funny how we didn't care. Consider what we could have been."

"Say goodbye one last time. It's getting closer now."
